Hotel Sant’Angelo is situated in the heart of Sasso Caveoso, about 30 meters far from San Pietro Caveoso Square, conveniently located along the city’s tourist itineraries. The Hotel layout is aligned in rows lending itself to a typical neighbourhood that overlooks courtyards and small town squares and are distributed onto different levels and retains all of the characteristics of the Sassi’s hypogeum houses, the front of the houses made of tufa walls and the rear carved from the tufa. Hotel Sant’Angelo is made up of 16 historical dwellings, each one different from the next whose interiors have been faithfully reproduced and adapted to modern day life. All rooms are furnished with: private bath, telephone, satellite television, air conditioning, safe and minibar. Hotel Sant’Angelo can accommodate up to 45 guests, and includes 6 luxury suites for the more needy traveller. The hotel also offers services for the organization of conventions, events, conferences and ceremonies in our different hypogeum atmospheres. In our large terraces one can enjoy a picturesque landscape of the impervious ravines of Matera’s Murgia and rock churches.
