An ancient residence situated in the historical centre of Siena, with an elegant entrance of the XVI century placed in Via della Sapienza it has two splendid terraces and wide windows on Camporegio valley and a view that embraces from east to west the Torre del Mangia, the Duomo, the sanctuary of S. Caterina and the church of San Domenico. The building, for its particular architectural structure is still known as “stick of the parrot”. It was already mentioned in the cartographies of the 1500, it has been for long time the noble dwelling of Salimbeni, Gricciolo and Zondadari families. In 1914 it became Mrs. Helen Robinson house, sister-in-law of Joseph Pennell, the last great designer and illustrator before the spread of photography. The artist and his intellectual American family passed long period in Italy, preferring Tuscany and in particular Siena and this elegant palace that today offers to its guests six rooms, four standard and two suite, a small entrance, a bar area with antiques furniture, an elegant drawing room that has the atmosphere of a fumoir or of a reading room of ancient times and a luminous veranda for breakfast that opens on a splendid terrace with view that will touch you and it won’t be easy to forget.
