It was the site of the Freestyle Skiing events of the 2006 Olympic Winter Games. Together with the villages of Sestriere, Claviere, Cesana Torinese, San Sicario and Mongenèvre, in France, it makes up the Via Lattea (Milky Way) skiing area.
